Hae-jin Yoo, despite not having the typical good looks that many Korean actors are known for, has proven that true talent is still important in the film industry. He has appeared in numerous popular films in South Korea, including the highly acclaimed "The Truck" released in 2008. Directed by the talented Hyeong-jin Kwon, who previously made a mark with "For Horowitz" in 2006, and written by Hyung-Mo Jang, the film also features the beloved Korean heartthrob Ku Jin.
The story revolves around Chul min (Hae-jin Yoo),an ordinary heavy truck driver. His daily job involves transporting various goods such as liquid, alcohol, fruits, and vegetables in the surrounding areas. This job doesn't bring in a substantial income in Korea, just enough to make a living. Therefore, when his daughter is diagnosed with a heart defect, he has to borrow money from his friends to pay for the surgery. However, after the surgery, he struggles to repay the debts and decides to try his luck in gambling.
Of course, not everyone can make money from gambling, and he is no exception. When he runs out of money to gamble, the casino owner forces him to accept a job of transporting a special cargo to the suburbs, which turns out to be dismembered bodies. With the corpses in his truck, Chul-Min nervously listens to the local radio station on his nerve-wracking journey. The news program is about the serial killer Young-Ho (Jin Goo) being escorted by the police to a mental hospital.
While driving through a national highway, Chul-Min sees a car falling into a ditch. Inside, he discovers the bodies of several murdered police officers. After hesitating for a moment, he decides to leave and continue his task of burying the corpses. However, a suspicious police officer orders him to stop the truck and leads him to the actual crime scene he was heading towards. As Chul-Min unravels the true nature of his passenger, his nightmare becomes a reality...
